From Tragedy to Advocacy to Action
Tammy “Gweedo” McGee, founder of the Gweedo Memorial Foundation, became a nationally recognized advocate for teen driver safety after losing her only son, Conner, in a preventable crash. Her foundation focuses on education and advocacy to save lives, including the creation of the anonymous reporting platform IfYouSeeSomethingSaySomething.org, which empowers teens to report reckless driving without fear. Tammy’s efforts have helped pass five pieces of life-saving legislation in Virginia to strengthen driver education and accountability. Through education, legislation, and nationwide school presentations, she continues to inspire teens to make safer choices behind the wheel.
