The above amount does not include $275.41 raised from Rotary members ringing bells and $1,500.00 from Old Point Bank’s donation to kick off the Coliseum Christmas Parade. Rotarians volunteered at various high Holiday traffic locations throughout the City.
This fundraising effort goes back almost 20 years when Robert Shuford, of our club, and the late Cap Neilson, of the Peninsula Rotary Club, challenged each other to raise the most money of all the Peninsula’s civic clubs who participate as volunteers each year. Our Rotary has raised a total of $173,740.00 since we started this project. This does not include money collected in the kettles. The Hampton Rotary Club can be very proud of our support to The Salvation Army!
