Ready Together: How Emergency Management Helps—and How You Can Too
This presentation offers a concise look at how the Emergency Management Office works year-round to protect the community through planning, outreach, and preparedness. It highlights grant programs that elevate homes and fund critical public safety equipment, along with training, exercises, and management of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Attendees will also learn personal preparedness tips, how the office monitors hazards and issues alerts during severe weather and emergencies—and how the community can partner in these efforts.
Presented By: Mary Holup is an experienced emergency management professional with more than three decades of public service dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations and strengthening community resilience. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Longwood College and currently serves as an Emergency Management Planner – Logistics, a role she has held since 2018. In this position, Mary provides logistics planning and operational support for emergency preparedness and response, coordinates resources and facilities, and manages grant-funded initiatives to ensure continuity of operations during emergencies.
