The Rotary Club of Hampton has been honored with Special Recognition in District 7600’s annual Red Kettle Challenge for their remarkable fundraising achievement. The club collected an impressive total of $16,627.32 through both kettle collections and direct monetary contributions. To put this into perspective, the entire District 7600—comprising 64 clubs—raised a combined total of $46,853.95, making Hampton’s contribution a significant portion of the district-wide effort.

Under the leadership of Robert F. Shuford, the Hampton Club continues to embody the Rotary motto of “Doing the Most Good.” Mr. Shuford has been a dedicated member of the Hampton Rotary Club for over 50 years and has served on the Virginia Peninsula Salvation Army Board for an equally impressive span of time.

What began years ago as a friendly challenge between the Hampton and Newport News clubs has evolved into a spirited competition, with Hampton consistently emerging as the leader. Mr. Shuford’s commitment and example have been instrumental in this success, and he truly exemplifies the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self.”
